Building rural brands
Jugalbandi has successfully developed and piloted innovative, community-led models that integrate production, value addition, and market linkage—bringing dignity, income, and sustainability to rural livelihoods. These initiatives are more than projects—they are proof of what’s possible when producers become brand owners and entrepreneurs.
Murighonto – fresh from the farm, straight to your plate
In collaboration with the Agriculture and Fisheries Departments and the State Fisheries Development Corporation (West Bengal), Jugalbandi launched Murighonto, a brand committed to delivering fresh, pesticide-free fish and fish products directly from rural farm ponds to urban consumers. The initiative not only improved rural incomes but built transparent farm-to-fork supply chains in the fishery sector.
Bahubali – scalable sanitation and health solutions
Under the Bahubali brand, Jugalbandi promoted sustainable sanitation and public health services tailored for rural and semi-urban contexts. The model emphasized entrepreneurship in sanitation, encouraging community ownership and maintenance of facilities—offering a dignified, decentralized approach to health and hygiene.
GOLD
Jugalbandi worked with Nemish Krishan Producer Company Ltd. in Uttar Pradesh to establish a rural food processing ecosystem under the brand GOLD.
